How it works
-
A suggestion shows up
Through the day, at the moments you are actually free. The app learns from what you accept and what you let pass โ there is no session to schedule.
-
You pick one and do it
A handful of exercises matched to your time, where you are, and what you have already done this week. Bad moment? Another one will come.
-
The week fills up
Every snack feeds the balance of your week and your progress along the exercise tree. What you did not do does not follow you around: the week starts over.
SnackUp in 3 numbers
What is an exercise snack?
Short bouts of movement, scattered through your day. 30 seconds to a few minutes. No gym, no changing clothes.
Stairs. A chair. A wall. A kitchen counter.
Whatever is within reach is enough.
Your body adds it all up.
What drives progress is the week's total volume: split into short sessions, it produces similar gains to a few long ones. And every set starts on a fresh body.
Schoenfeld & Grgic: meta-analyses on training frequency at equated volume
3 to 8%
of muscle lost per decade, from age 30.
Strength work slows that decline. A few sets today is a gift to your future self.

How many sets is a gym session?
6 exercises ร 3 sets, plus a fair share of mobility. And one snack is one set.

Same volume, not a promise of identical results.
It's an equivalence in sets, not in time or in outcome. At 10 snacks a day, your week weighs about 3 gym sessions, without ever blocking out an hour. Mobility is part of the count.
Where does your workout data go?
Nowhere.
Every snack, every rep, every streak lives on your phone. Not on a server: there isn't one.
Works offline.
Suggestions, progress, reminders: all computed on your phone. Even the notifications are scheduled locally.
Open the app. That's it.
No email, no password, no sign-up screen.
No analytics. No ads.
No usage measurement: what you do in the app goes nowhere, and no data is ever sold.
Your location stays on the phone.
Optional. It only helps SnackUp remember which spot has a pull-up bar: one quick check when you snack, never tracked in the background.
A file you own, locked with your own passphrase.
AES-256 encrypted, for when you change phone. Automatic backup (premium, opt-in) goes through your own Google or iCloud account, never through us.
Frequently asked questions
Do a few minutes of exercise really make a difference?
To get stronger, what matters most is the volume you accumulate over the week and how consistent you are โ far more than how long a single session lasts. SnackUp splits that volume into small pieces and makes sure each movement family (push, pull, legs, core, mobility) gets its share. It's not a competition program: it's a realistic way to move regularly when an hour-long workout doesn't fit into your day.
Do I need any equipment?
No. Many of the exercises are bodyweight-only and can be done anywhere. If you use a resistance band, a pull-up bar or dumbbells, the app picks that up on its own from the exercises you complete: there's never a list to fill in.
I'm a beginner (or getting back into it). Is it for me?
Yes. You set a starting level for each type of movement, and every progression tree starts from the most accessible move โ push-ups begin against a wall. How each snack felt shapes the next one, and an exercise that was too hard never lowers your real level.
Where and when do I do my snacks?
At home, at the office, outdoors: the app suggests exercises that fit where you are and the time you have. Reminders arrive between your wake-up and bedtime, and learn from the moments you actually say yes.
Is SnackUp free?
Yes, with no account and no ads. Suggestions, the full week, reminders, history and encrypted backups are free. An optional premium subscription adds comfort and detail, and funds what comes next. The details are in the terms of use.
